About La:  Lauren Bynum is a Co-Owner and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Lola’s Counseling with 26 years of experience in the field of clinical psychology, including 19 years as a licensed professional. She is dedicated to creating a supportive and efficient environment for both staff and clients.

As COO, Lauren manages daily operations, clinical workflows, program implementation, and team development, ensuring the practice runs smoothly and effectively. She also consults with local organizations on well-being and mental health initiatives.

Lauren focuses on building a cohesive team, streamlining operations, and fostering a collaborative culture. Outside of work, she enjoys time with family and friends and is a proud plant momma to over 75 plants.

About Lo:  Lora Speake is a Co-Owner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lola’s Counseling and has been a Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical (LCSW-C) since 2013. She is passionate about fostering a positive, growth-oriented culture and supporting the professional development of her team.

As CEO, Lora oversees the vision, strategy, and overall operations of the practice, ensuring the team has the resources and guidance to deliver high-quality care. A board-approved supervisor since 2018, she enjoys mentoring clinicians as they grow into confident, independent professionals.

Lora’s clinical expertise includes Play Therapy and Perinatal Mental Health, which informs her leadership and program development. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Rachel is a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) in MD & VA. She provides counseling to clients experiencing Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, and psychosis and Psychotic Disorders. Rachel understands the importance of having a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore life's ups and downs, and with her chill, calm demeanor clients feel both comfortable and appreciated. She works with clients to meet their challenges with curiosity and openness. Her fresh perspective balanced with meeting people where they are allows people to take risks both in session and in their real lives. In her practice, Rachel uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Therapy. In her free time, Rachel enjoys writing music, playing with her dogs, and spending time outside.

Lane is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Perinatal Mental Health Certified therapist with over 10 years of clinical experience. She specializes in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity development, and perinatal mental health, and utilizes an evidence-based, client-centered approach to care. Lane is deeply committed to helping clients build insight, develop effective coping strategies, and create meaningful, sustainable change.

In her role as Director of Growth and Strategic Partnerships, Lane brings her clinical expertise into the broader vision of the practice—focusing on expanding access to high-quality care and building strong, collaborative relationships within the community. She is passionate about supporting both clients and clinicians and ensuring growth remains aligned with the practice’s core values.

Lane believes that effective therapy is grounded in trust, authenticity, and connection, and she strives to create spaces where individuals feel both supported and empowered in their work.

Outside of her professional role, Lane enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active, and prioritizing balance in daily life.

Britney is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 15 years of experience, specializing in mentoring and supervising aspiring mental health professionals. She guides supervisees in developing clinical skills, professional growth, and the ability to provide high-quality care to clients.

As a clinician, Britney draws from a holistic and eclectic approach, integrating techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychoeducation to meet individual client needs. She has experience addressing a wide range of concerns including Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Substance Use Issues, PTSD, Relationship Challenges, and Military/Veteran-related concerns.

In her supervision role, Britney is dedicated to supporting clinicians’ development, fostering competence, confidence, and ethical practice. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with family and pets, staying active outdoors, weight training, and engaging in DIY projects, embracing a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.

Emily is the Administrative Coordinator at Lola’s Counseling. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and has previous experience working as a benefits specialist, allowing her to support clients and clinicians with care, organization, and attention to detail. Emily is passionate about creating a welcoming, seamless experience and helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes.

In her free time she enjoys painting pottery, doing DIY projects, and spending time being present with her family.

Beth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She provides counseling to clients experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, addiction, and relationship issues. She is passionate about empowering others to make choices that are healthiest for them. She focuses on her clients’ strengths and employs mindfulness, cognitive reframing, and psychoeducation in her practice. She has experience in inpatient mental health, outpatient substance treatment, and working with adults with differing abilities. She truly believes we are in this together, and each of us has the potential to cultivate hope and purpose. Her self care practice includes spending time with her cat, family and friends, gardening, hiking, running, and going on adventures.

Rhonda is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who earned her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, DC campus in 2022.  She provides counseling for clients who experience Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, and Self-Esteem; by using theoretical integrative approaches such as Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness Therapy.

Subsequently, Rhonda has previous professional work experience, which she feels complements the counseling profession. Rhonda was a teacher and principal within diverse K-12 settings for many years before deciding to change her career path in 2020.  

Rhonda believes individuals do not have to go through whatever they are going through, alone; with counseling, learn that emotions and feelings can and will pass. She feels with her encouragement and support, her client can move forward toward their desired healthier lifestyle. 

In her free time, Rhonda enjoys yoga, gardening, running, working out and meditation.

Tiffany is a Registered Psychology Associate (RPA) who earned her master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Towson University in 2023. She provides counseling for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship issues, trauma, and life transitions. Tiffany uses strength-based approaches within an evidence-based framework. Tiffany integrates principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed care, and somatic psychotherapy. She understands the importance of addressing both emotional and physical aspects of well-being. Her approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and respect for each individual's unique experiences. Tiffany creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients from all backgrounds, including BIPOC, LGBTQI+, and Neurodiverse folks can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. She also has experience working as an Adjunct Professor, teaching new generations of psychology students about the history, application, and core principles of the field of psychology. In her free time, she enjoys being active with hiking, boxing, yoga, weight training, running, and by spending quality time with her cat.

Isabella Schaefer, LMSW, is a trauma-informed therapist who works with teens (18+), young adults, and adults navigating challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and substance use. She takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach and tailors sessions to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. Isabella is trained in EMDR and integrates evidence-based practices, including CBT, DBT, IFS, and somatic interventions, to support healing and growth.

She earned her MSW from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and brings experience from a range of settings, including inpatient psychiatry, PHP/IOP programs, hospital advocacy for survivors of intimate partner violence, integrated care, and community mental health. Isabella is passionate about increasing access to quality mental health care and helping clients feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Outside of therapy, Isabella enjoys hiking, coffee, staying active, and spending time with loved ones.

Natalie is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) who earned her master's degree in clinical professional counseling from Loyola University Maryland in December 2024. She provides counseling for individuals experiencing disordered eating, struggles with body image, sport-related issues, anxiety, depression, disconnection between physical (body) and mental (mind) health, burnout, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and emotional dysregulation. Natalie identifies with an eclectic style of therapy, pulling from different therapeutic styles using information about the individual's needs and evidence-based practices. She aims to be a constant learner who provides liberatory, anti-carceral care for individuals from all backgrounds, including individuals who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodiverse, in order to make therapy a safe space where every individual is met with empathy and autonomy. In her free time, Natalie enjoys going to the beach, taking care of her plants, resting with a good book or show, and spending time with her dog.

Leanne Brenner, LMSW is a trauma-informed therapist who uses a client-centered and strengths-based approach to help individuals heal and grow. She integrates evidence-based practices that include CPT, TF-CBT, IFS, DBT, Schema Therapy, art therapy, and somatic techniques to support nearly any need. Her background in intensive outpatient and community mental health settings provided the opportunity to work with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ members and foster youth. She is committed to creating space for trauma survivors to be seen, heard, and empowered to write their own story. As a U.S. Space Force veteran, former Olympic hopeful, and sabre fencing coach, Leanne also brings a unique perspective informed by elite athletics, sports psychology, and military leadership. Leanne earned her MSW from Boston University and a B.S. in Behavioral Sciences from the U.S. Air Force Academy. In her free time, she enjoys painting, playing piano, and spending time with family and friends.

Sarah Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2018. She provides counseling for children, adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, and challenges related to emotional regulation and self-esteem. Sarah also has experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and those navigating cultural and ethnic identity, helping clients explore how these experiences impact their mental health, relationships, and sense of self.
Sarah utilizes a client-centered and integrative approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based practices while tailoring treatment to meet each individual’s unique needs and goals. She values creating a collaborative therapeutic space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered as they work toward meaningful change and personal growth.
Sarah is committed to providing compassionate and culturally responsive care to individuals from diverse backgrounds. She strives to create a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment where clients can explore their experiences openly and authentically.

She utilizes Motivational Interviewing to meet clients where they are and empower them throughout their recovery journey, believing that recovery is possible for everyone. Outside of her work, Paige enjoys spending time in nature, connecting with friends and family, and exploring new places.
